In his article called ‘The Bullet Hole in Our Pocket’, Engin Deniz refers to Democratic Progress Institute’s latest report by Izzet Akyol on the conflict’s negative impact on the economy in Turkey. With reference to DPI’s report, the author stated that the armed conflict cost the Turkish economy 4 trillion dollars. In addition to this, in the absence of conflict, the national income per capita would have been almost 35 per cent higher than the current numbers. Thus, he concluded by saying that Turkey’s conflict has had an impact beyond human loss.
