Dublin and Belfast, 3 – 8 September 2019
The Democratic Progress Institute (DPI), will carry out a Comparative Study Visit (CSV) on the role of religious leaders in peace process and reconciliation from 3 – 8 September 2019. Over the course of the visit, participants will travel to Dublin and Belfast, during which they will have the opportunity to meet with key figures who played significant roles in the conflict resolution process in Northern Ireland, as well as those who continue to work hard in maintaining peace and interreligious harmony. They will share their expertise on a range of themes that will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the role of religious leaders in Northern Ireland.
The CSV forms part of a larger series of activities planned in the context of the project: “Supporting inclusive dialogue at a challenging time in Turkey”. In line with DPI’s usual practice, a full record of discussions from the CSV’s meetings will be published and made available on the Institute’s webpage at www.democraticprogress.org. For further information on this CSV, please contact DPI’s Deputy Director Ville Forsman at vforsman@democraticprogress.org or Esra Elmas DPI’s Head of Turkey Programme at eelmas@democraticprogress.org.
